Terms of Service
1. The service
YKU ("the service") is a software platform that organizes public information about South Korean universities and programs, and helps users evaluate options against their own profiles. By using the site, joining the waitlist, or creating an account, you accept these terms.
2. Pre-release status
YKU is in active development. Features described on the site, including the matching engine, may change, break, or ship later than expected. The live demo is a simplified demonstration and its outputs are illustrative, not recommendations you should rely on.
3. Information, not advice
YKU is an information tool. It is not a university, an admissions office, a recruitment agency, immigration advice, or a substitute for either. Admission, visa and scholarship decisions are made only by the institutions and authorities involved. Always verify requirements and deadlines on the official university pages, which we link from every record.
4. No outcome guarantees
Nothing on the service, including match scores or shortlists, guarantees admission, scholarship awards, visa approval, or employment. Fit scores express how well a program's characteristics align with the inputs you provided.
5. University data
Program data is compiled from official university sources and re-verified on a schedule. Universities change their pages without notice, so errors and delays are possible. Each record shows its source link and last-verified date so you can confirm current details directly.
6. Your account and acceptable use
- Provide accurate information about yourself and keep it current.
- Use the service for its intended purpose of evaluating study options.
- Do not scrape, resell, or systematically extract the dataset.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, probe, or misuse the service or its infrastructure.
7. Intellectual property
The YKU name, logo, design, and compiled dataset are property of the project. University names and program facts remain the property of their respective institutions; we present them for informational purposes. You may quote small excerpts with attribution and a link.
8. Waitlist emails
Joining the waitlist permits us to email you about YKU. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe. See the Privacy Policy for how your address is stored and deleted.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or current at all times. Where the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, YKU's total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred US dollars. We are not liable for decisions you make, or outcomes you experience, based on information presented by the service.
11. Changes
We may update these terms as the product develops. Material changes are announced by email to the waitlist and by the updated date above. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new terms.
